Adam Zimpel joined Sarah Tengler in early December 2019 as a member of the Impact Vacations team. He was born in Poznan, Poland with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He was bitten by the travel bug at a very young age as he with his parents traveled for therapy from Poland to Philadelphia multiple times. He lived in Saskatoon, India (Bangalore), and the Netherlands before settling down in Ottawa in 2013.
Adam is no stranger to accessible travel. He traveled extensively throughout the world, especially in Europe and Canada. As someone who is in a wheelchair, he understands the challenges facing travelers with mobility challenges firsthand. He holds a Travel and Tourism diploma from Ottawa’s Algonquin Careers Academy, in addition, he studied International Travel and Tourism Industry at the NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences in the The Netherlands. He also is a Canadian Certified Travel Counselor as of May 2021, by the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA). For his placement assignment, he compiled a 5-day tour package geared toward the American client with mobility impairments to the city of Poznan, Poland, and area. Airlines and route network planning also lie among his interests.
Adam is very excited to work for the Impact Vacations and for the Centre Holidays team. With his 33-year experience with accessible tourism, combined with his formal education in travel, Adam is looking forward to assisting others with their travel desires!
