Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is a distinct land that immerses you into the world of the Jedi. With rides, character experiences, dinning and other interactive adventures within Galaxy’s Edge, you will feel the force.
Only one attraction was open during out visit in November 2019 with the second attraction open Dec 9, 2019. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is an interactive simulator that puts you in command of the Millennium Falcon. The attraction takes 6 riders, each with their own role. With interactive joysticks, switches and buttons, guests must ensure the Millennium Falcon is returned to home port safely. The standby que line for this attraction was 3+ hours during our visit over American Thanksgiving week. However, we were able to walk right on by using the single rider line located to the left of the ride entrance. This attraction is wheelchair accessible but you must be able to transfer to the ride vehicle seat. There is sufficient space between seats to bring a wheelchair or scooter right next to your seat for the transfers. Smuggler’s Run is a jerky simulator experience. You should be able to support your own body to ride. Please see a cast member before riding to evaluate your needs.
Two dinning options inside Galaxy’s Edge, Oga’s Cantina and Docking Bay 7, provide guests a sit down dinning experience. Additionally, there are 3 quick service meal and drink stations inside Galaxy’s Edge serving a variety of Star Wars themed items. Both sit down restaurants were booked during our visit to Hollywood Studios. Guests wanting to visit these restaurants must make a reservation prior to their visit.
Two interactive experiences are available inside Galaxy’s Edge. Savi’s Workshop where visitors can make and customize their own lightsabers, and Droid Depot where guests can build and customize their own droid. Both experiences require advance reservations. Both experiences allow guests to bring home their creation as a souvenir of their time at Galaxy’s Edge. The droid experience is $99.99USD and the lightsaber experience is $199.99USD. The high price may turn some Star Wars fans away however with these you are not just purchasing a product, you are purchasing an experience.
The Play Disney Parks app is expanded inside Galaxy’s Edge. With interactive experiences on the app, wait times seem shorter. Use the app inside Black Spire Outpost to interact with the land during your visit to Galaxy’s Edge.
